House Work: Journal 1/14/16

What can I do to contribute to the peace and overall cleanliness of the house? As the oldest child in the house I need to be responsible for leading Onjel, Eden, and Deryon. I can contribute by keeping the rooms straitened throughout the day and finishing the clothes early in the day so that our evening can be less stressful. I can contribute to the underlying peace of out house by keeping my timesheet up to date and staying present through the day. All of us can contribute by making our beds in the morning and cleaning our messes before we move forward

Reflection: Mercy and Grace

God's  Mercy and Grace

God has mercy, he forgives us even when we don't deserve it. He has compassion he watches our hearts. God gives us grace things we don't deserve. And he asks us to hate the things that he hates and love the things he loves. We know that God has mercy, grace, compassion, and that he is slow to anger.

Reflection(January 12, 2016)

It is important when studying scripture to consider the differences between two very similar terms, mercy and grace. According to scripture, the wages of sin is death. Everyone has sinned and fallen short of  the Glory of God, the only reason we have a chance at heaven is because God is a merciful God. Mercy is when someone keeps us from a negative consequence of our own actions. Mirriam Webster describes it as : a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion. god showed mercy on David when he killed Uriah and took his wife. He showed mercy on Samson after he was blinded and enslaved because of his own disobedience. Grace on the other hand is the giving a a positive consequence when we don't deserve it. It was through God's grace that Jesus came down from heaven to die on the cross.

What did the Flood Represent?

The flood was made to kill all of the evil, it represents cleansing and starting over and thats exactly what God wanted to do so he took a righteous man and started a new generation of everything. And to show his promise not to destroy the earth by flood again he made the rainbow. So now every time we see a rainbow we should remember God.

Reflection(January 7, 2015)

God is a just God. He always gives man a way of escape. When the descendents of Adam and Eve became corrupt, he found godliness in the form of Noah. Even though, only Noah and his family were the only ones on the Ark, there was more than ample time for all of the rest to repent and join Noah on the Ark. According to modern theologians, Noah was believed to have spent approximately 120 years building the Ark. This means that Noah was in a position to preach to his neighbors about the coming flood for a little over a century. Yet not one other person forsook his worldly pleasure for the opportunity to board the Ark with Noah. Noah became God's chosen because he was set apart from the world. God formed a covenant or promise with him that covered both himself and his household. Much like God's covenant with Abraham covered not only him but his whole people. God provided Noah with a long enough life to complete the Ark, living to the ripe old age of 950. When he had finished building the Ark, after 120 years of tedious carpentry and construction, it would have amounted to nothing had god not sent the animals into it. When the flood came and the waters were rising, it would all be over if God had not closed the entrance. After the 40 days of raining and the 150 days of waiting, Noah and everything on the Ark would have starved and died had not God's wind pushed back the waters on Mt. Ararat and provided a safe place to rest and live. When we make a covenant with God, we admit our inability to succeed without him and our willingness to follow him no matter the circumstances. The rainbow was a sign of God's promise to never again flood the whole world, but it was also a sign marking the beginning of an era of God covenants.

Queen Esther(November 11,2010)

A Jewish girl in Persia who was taken from her home to become a Queen. When she was taken to the palace she changed her name to Esther so no one would know she was a Jew. When she was taken to learn how to be a queen she found favor in the head eunuch, and in the king. The king found much favor in her beauty and married her. Then one day, the kings high assistant Haman decided she would kill all of the Jews in Persia. So when Haman decided that one Hew in particular should be hanged it just so happened that Jew had saved the kings life and the king had been reading the history and he told Haman to do great things for the Jew. Now the Queen had learned of the plot and revealed her true identity. The king was furious so he hanged Haman and Queen Esther saved the Jews.

 Reflection(January 6,2016)

It is an adventure in itself to look back on my old journals. Sometimes I hardly believe I wrote them, my mindset was so completely different back then you could almost say I was a completely different person. I think back to a time when I looked at the prospect of 2016 with mystery. "What would I look like?""How tall will I be?""What if I get acne?""How many more siblings will I have?" Its almost magical to have the answer to those questions. As if I'm back to when I was 10 years old, looking in the mirror, trying to imagine how my face will change, how a mustache would look on me. These journals are time machines for me. I rediscover myself in them. I see things about myself I never would have noticed in the moment. Like the way my handwriting curved to the left instead of the right, or the way I made my writing small in order to save space on the page. I find myself shuddering at the numerous and blatant grammatical errors. But I also find pride in my 10 year old self for the purity of his words and the simplicity of his writing. I am found envying his carefree attitude from a life before the stress of adolescence, the pressure of puberty, or the weighted knowledge of the world. On these pages I meet myself again where pen meets paper.

 

Reflection Galatians 5

2 Corinthians 5

2 Corinthians 5 states that anyone who accepts God is a new creature he says the old is gone and the new is come. I believe that when Christ comes into our hearts we must give up all the sins and weakness of our old mind and accepts the holy mind of Jesus Christ. God being completely untainted and righteous could not live in the same temple as the sins and wickedness of our hearts. As Psalm 51 states God desires truth in the inward part and you shall make me to know wisdom in the hidden parts. Therefore not only do we receive Christ we acquire his perfect mindset we become a living sacrifice holy and acceptable.

Starting Anew

I believe that 2013 is going to be a year  to remember. I can only hope and pray that this is the year my life changes. Every day I make a choice to either further my maturity or hinder it. Nothing is accidental, everything I do from know on determines where I end up 6 years from know. This is probably one of the most important years of my life. My parents have found it necessary to include life skills into my school curriculum. I totally agree with them, because I do not want to be handicapped in this global market. In order for anyone I meet to communicate with me I must be willing to put effort into my speech. This and much more are the things I will be practicing this year. i pray that God will help me and keep my mind focused on the things that are good for me. 2012 was a great year we had our moments of happiness and our share of heartbreaks, but I believe that if God be willing 2013 will not only be great but EXCELLENT!

Left behind: 1#

Left behind is a creative Christian fiction following the lives of  nonbelievers after the rapture. It is based on Revelations. The story follows the stories of a pilot, a a news writer, and a college girl who are trying to find meaning to their life and become intertwined in the last days. With their new church they become spies for God and with their new jobs working for the Antichrist as a way to gather information can they last or will the spotted.

What is justice

What is justice. Can there ever be true justice. Lets say you lie to your parent's should the punishment be any less than that of murder. You would most likely say yes that murder is a greater sin than lying. But in God's eye they are sin and sin is equally punishable. The guilty verdict for these crimes against God is death. This would have happened if Jesus had not been crucified. Therefore god being the ultimate justice took us off of death row and put us on parole. Giving us a chance to redemption.

Should Cristians celebrate Valentine's Day

            Before I answer this question let’s ask one simple question, should Christians celebrate anything? Christians were never told to celebrate anything that did not have something to do with his love for his people (Christmas, Resurrection Sunday, the Passover, etc.). In all of the celebrations we are to celebrate not once did I see anything that says to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day? Holy days and holidays are not to be mistaken (Sunday is a holy day valentines is a holiday).

            I am not calling anyone who would choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day evil I’m not even calling Valentine’s Day evil I am only shedding light on it, and those with ears to hear and eyes to see will understand. It is not my place to judge because I don’t know if it has pagan roots or not but I do know if you know it has pagan roots and still celebrate it you will be judged for your actions according to your knowledge.

            If you do choose to celebrate it that’s your choice and no one else’s but before you choose ask yourself this question why? Find three good reasons and continue with your celebration. Sometimes on Valentine’s Day we like to give roses and chocolates to the ones we love, there’s nothing wrong with that but remember roses wilt and chocolates melt but the word of God never fades.

            In conclusion the choice is completely yours. I will say that can and my view will never be yours and my reasons will never be yours, but those with ears to hear and eyes to see will be given knowledge and understanding. So no matter how persuasive my paper the final choice is yours and yours alone.

What is a Christian ?

A Christian is someone who has accepted Jesus as their lord and savior.

   A Christian believes that God created the heavens and the earth and that he created man. Christians believe man fell from perfection and the price of that sin was death, and God being of merciful disposition sent his son to pay the price.

  Christians rely on their faith to guide them. They believe that Jesus was tormented, disgraced and crucified for their redemption through his blood. Christian faith leads them to believe that after three days in the grave he rose from the grave and soon afterward ascended into heaven as Christ our savior.

  Christians are those who believe the Bible is the inspired word of God written by his disciples and prophets. They believe when Jesus ascended into heaven he sent down a comforter to live inside his people to help guide them in their journey.

  As a conclusion a Christian is someone who has accepted Jesus as their lord and savior and live according to his teaching.   

      

A Pilgrim's Progress Part 1

A Pilgrim's Progress is a dream from a man named John Bunyan. It's about a man named Christian who had a huge burden on his back from reading a book that said his city would be destroyed. Christian then met Evangelist who told him the only way to get that burden of his back is to follow the path and never turn back, so he ran he ran with all his might and didn't look back. His friends Obstinate, and Pliable ran after him and finally caught up with him just before he reached the path.They tried to convince him to come home but instead Christian convinced Pliable to come with him. Christian and Pliable were traveling but began to stray from the path and fell into the River of Despond and Pliable seeing all of his past sins left Christian stuck in the River. Soon a man named Help pulled Christian out of the River and showed him the path.

What would you do? 2# Ability to help?

What would you do if you had the ability to help someone who really needed to be helped? How many times have you seen a homeless person with a cardboard sign saying,"Please help a poor person" and you pass him without a sidelong glance. Let's say you're walking to school and you see a poor child asking if someone could lend her some lunch money and you have twenty dollars in your backpack what would you do? When you have the ability to help someone that means you have the ability to bless someone what you do from there is up to you.

What would you do ? 1# inside knowledge

What would you do if you had knowledge of some scheme that includes a person getting hurt. I would tell someone who can help stop the unfavorable of this scheme. Lets say one of your best friends were planning to rob someone, and they ask you to help them. Would you help them or would you tell someone? Think of it this way, you have the ability to save a life or take a life. One story that shows these specific circumstances is the story of "Guy Fawkes" he had the idea to eliminate the English government, so he joined a group called the "Flanders" and they were planning to put gunpowder in the cellar of the Parliament. My point is anyone of the Flanders could have chosen to save a life but all of them chose to take one so their lives were taken.

Maturity Part 1

Today is a great day, my sister has changed from 11 years old to 12 years old, and because her age changed does that mean that her attitude will change. For I tell you there are responsible 10 years old and irresponsible 30 year old men. If you can find this you have all the evidence to verify my hypothesis but if you can't ask your friend. Maturity is something that takes obedience,and discipline. My mother is someone who has achieved such maturity, in everything she does she is nice, loving, caring, and disciplined. If you show such traits you are on your way to maturity.   

Molly Moons:Hypnotic Time Travel

This week I'm reading a book in the Molly Moons series .This book is about a girl named Molly Moons finds out that with her ability to hypnotize and stop the world, she can go through time.Yet with her new found powers their are enemies . Another hypnotist tries to out-do Molly now she and her younger selves are in danger .
